23-year-old La Quinta resident Bryan Sargent was killed in a La Quinta car accident that occurred on May 29, 2011, around 10:23 a.m. along Rancho Mirage Highway. According to Riverside County Coroner's officials, Sargent’s vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic along the Highway 111 (SR-111) and collided with an SUV.
Sargent was immediately transported to Eisenhower Medical Center for treatment where he was pronounced dead around 11:12 a.m. From the limited information, it is not clear what made Sargent drift his vehicle into the incoming traffic. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
Loss of a young family member is a heart-wrenching and irreversible loss. Though it is a tough time for Sargent’s family, it would be in their best interest to immediately consult with a Riverside County car accident lawyer to know about their legal rights and options. A traffic injury attorney will help Sargent’s family obtain fair compensation to cover funeral and burial costs, loss of anticipated income, loss of love and companionship, and other accident-related expenses.
Our law office offers sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved Sargent for such a tragic loss.
