Teenager Killed In Mojave Desert Car Accident on I-15 North

Monday, June 6, 2011

19-year-old Bianca Mathew was killed in a freeway car accident that occurred on May 20, 2011, around 1:10 a.m. deep in the Mojave Desert. According to the responding California Highway Patrol Officers, Mathew was a backseat passenger in a blue 2006 Honda Odyssey that rear-ended an International big rig on the northbound lanes at Mountain Pass.

Mathew was pronounced dead at the scene. From the available information, the exact cause of the accident is not unknown. Since this accident happened late at night, maybe the lights and road signs were unclear. The state of alertness of the driver is also questionable.

It is indeed a very tough time for the family and no words can be enough to reduce their loss. However they have to maintain their calm and consult with an experienced car accident lawyer who can advise them of their legal rights and options. An attorney may also hire his own team of detectives for an in-depth investigation to know the real cause of the accident. The road maintenance authorities, the car manufacturer, the driver, or even another vehicle may be responsible for the teenager’s wrongful death.

In such a case, the family of the deceased may be entitled for a compensation to cover the expenses incurred for funeral of the teenager, loss of love and companionship, loss of earnings, and for the pain and suffering that the family is going through.

Our personal injury law office offers our sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved the victim. Losing a loved one due to someone’s negligence is indeed a disturbing and heart-rendering loss.
