Lenexa, Kansas was the site of a tragic single vehicle crash that claimed the life of an 18 year-old man last week.  Police say the fatal crash was caused when the teen driver lost control of his car near 83rd and Mullen Road and hit a tree.  In the crash, a large tree branch collapsed onto the vehicle and pinned the driver in.  Police managed to cut the victim from the wreckage and he was transported to a hospital with serious and catastrophic injuries.

Our experienced Kansas City Auto Injury Attorneys would like to extend our deepest sympathies to friends and family of the young victim in this accident.   We know that losing a loved one, especially at such a young age is always difficult to accept.  We encourage all motorists in Kansas and Missouri, no matter your age, to practice safe and attentive driving techniques and help keep our roads safe for everyone.  Drive Safe.  Drive Smart.

Teenage driving accidents are not uncommon in Kansas City and while it may be impossible to eliminate them all together, it is possible to teach our children to become patient and attentive drivers.  Teens can become responsible drivers by avoiding distractions such as cell phone calls or texting and driving, avoid becoming an aggressive driver and always follow the rules of the road, including proper speed limits and making complete stops at stop signs and traffic signals.

Blue Springs Woman Crashes into House Trying to Avoid Hitting Animal in Road

At Roswold Law Group, we know being a disciplined and attentive driver goes beyond just making sure you’re prepared to stop if the guy in front of you stops short.  It also means watching out for anyone or anything that could dart out into the road suddenly.  This could be anything from another vehicle to a child or even an animal, like a deer in the road or a cat or a dog.

The other day in Blue Springs, MO., a woman accidentally crashed her car into a house when she swerved to avoid an animal in the road.  The accident happened on Valley View Road near Woods Chapel.  The passenger of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized.  No one was injured inside the house when the car crashed into the garage of the house, which itself suffered extensive damage.

Our experienced Kansas City Auto Injury Lawyers hope you are thinking of yourself and your passengers safety while you’re on the road.  We know that nobody wants to be responsible for the death of someone’s pet but let’s face it.  Swerving suddenly to avoid a minor accident can sometimes lead to a serious injury accident.  A sudden jerk of the wheel can sometimes cause your vehicle to lose control and possibly cause a rollover accident– or worse, you could hit another car or even a pedestrian.

Sometimes the best thing to do, as awful as it sounds is to stay your course.  Hitting an animal may cause damage to your car.  It might even kill the poor, innocent animal.  But a car can be repaired or replaced.  You and your passengers lives cannot be.  Drive safe and drive smart.  Be an attentive driver to help make the roads of Kansas City a safe place to drive.

If you or someone you love has suffered a serious injury in an auto accident in Kansas or Missouri, you may be entitled to compensation.  Call the experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Attorneys of Roswold Law Group.  With over 15 years of experience in Auto Injury Accidents we may be able to help you and your family get through this difficult and often stressful time.

Contact Roswold Law Group to set up a free consultation to discuss your personal injury claim.  You can get started today by downloading our free book, “10 Essential Steps to Protecting Your Injury Claim“.  We want you to know your rights.
