Deadly Chicago area pedestrian accident – woman killed in hospital parking lot

An Illinois pedestrian accident has resulted in the death of the 76-year-old woman who was hit and killed by a minivan in the parking garage at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights on Wednesday morning, according to Tribune Local. The pedestrian victim was reportedly walking in a marked area for pedestrians at the time of the accident.

The woman was struck by a red Chrysler van that was being operated by a 59-year-old driver from Mount Prospect. The pedestrian became trapped under the vehicle and rescue personnel from the fire department and hospital staff tried to treat her while others tried to lift the vehicle and free her. Once she was able to be removed she was taken a short distance to the emergency room with multiple injuries and she died a short time later.

It is being reported that surveillance cameras are helping police reconstruct the accident scene. No traffic citations or criminal charges have been filed against the at fault motorist, but the Arlington Heights police investigation is still ongoing.

It is not been reported if a Chicago pedestrian accident attorney is involved in the case yet. As the weather warms up in Chicago, more and more pedestrians will be on the street and Illinois motorists have to keep a proper lookout for them. The Illinois Secretary of State's office reports that in the year 2008 alone 135 pedestrians were killed in the State of Illinois and nationwide over 4,500 pedestrians were killed and approximately 60,000 were injured.

Monster Truck Kills Woman In Strip Club After Fatal Injury - Dallas, Texas

 

As reported by Fox news:

A woman was struck and killed early Thursday morning by a pickup truck that was jacked up so high, the driver says he never saw his victim.

The accident happened around 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of Spearmint Rhino Gentleman's Club on Composite Drive near Walnut Hill in Dallas.

Police say 27-year-old Eric Crutchfield got into his silver four-door Ford F-250 truck and slowly began to pull forward out of his parking space.

Witnesses say the victim, 23-year-old Kasey McKenzie of Granbury, was walking through the parking lot and had just stepped in front of Crutchfield's truck as he put it in gear.

According to the police report, two of the Ford's giant tires, which appear to be at least three feet tall, rolled over McKenzie. However, Crutchfield told police he didn't realize anything had happened until other people stopped him in the parking lot.

Officers booked Crutchfield on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and discovered he has a suspended license.

McKenzie's Facebook page says she is a 2006 graduate of Granbury High School and a 2010 graduate of University of North Texas.

Friends and family members say she was not an employee of the club.

Phoenix woman arrested after drunk driving crash

A Phoenix woman was arrested for alleged DUI after crashing her vehicle when driving her children home.

The 34-year-old woman crashed her vehicle near 45th Street and she left her youngest child, an 8-year-old boy, at the scene. The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries in the accident.

The police department found the woman hiding under a staircase at an apartment complex on multiple charges including, aggravated DUI, aggravated DUI with child passenger, endangerment and failure to stay at the scene. The woman admitted to drinking four beers before getting behind the wheel of the car with her two children.

Blue Springs Woman Crashes into House Trying to Avoid Hitting Animal in Road

A woman and her two young children killed

A 43-year old man was killed in a car accident when he failed to stop his vehicle at a stop sign. The accident occurred at the intersection of Brown Road and NC 903 on a Sunday morning, reports a New York Injury Lawyer. Even though much of the evidence taken at the scene must still be examined, the Pitt County Sheriff's Department is not ruling out drug or alcohol impairment at this time. The sheriff's department is waiting on the medical examiner's report for clarification and to get a definite answer as to the exact cause of death.
While driving down Brown Road, the man failed to stop at a stop sign. His car went off the road and hit a tree. His car was found in a ditch. The man, who leaves behind a wife, two daughters and his parents, worked for the Pitt County Sheriff's Department as a Micro Computer Specialist, says a New York Auto Accident Lawyer. It is not known where the man was going at the time of the accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt, which may have contributed to his death. The man was driving a Nissan Altima. The airbag was deployed at the time of the accident.
