At least two people were killed in a tragic single-vehicle rollover that occurred on July 4, 2011, around 9:45 a.m. on the 60 Freeway (SR-60) near Pyrite Street in Glen Avon, just west of Riverside. According to the responding California Highway Patrol officers, a silver-colored SUV rolled over several times and landed back on its wheels.
Seven people were transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for the injuries. There were two fatalities at the scene.
Riverside County Coroner's office is investigating to determine the exact cause of SUV rollover. If it is found that the SUV driver lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical failure, then the automaker will be held for victims’ wrongful death and injuries suffered by others. However, if unmaintained road is found to be reason for the rollover, the road maintenance authorities may be held liable for the crash.
The victims’ family members should seek counsel from Riverside County highway accident attorney to obtain compensation to cover funeral and burial costs, loss of future income, loss of love and companionship, and other accident-related expenses. The injured victims are also eligible to obtain compensation to cover treatment, medical, and hospital costs.
